Koenig School of Dance Policies

About Us

Koenig Dance School is dedicated to teaching each student the foundations of dance in a positive and caring environment. With a strong emphasis on ballet, students will build the technique to pursue any avenue in dance. We realize that every student comes to dance class with different goals, and we strive to meet each students’ needs in a nurturing environment with the highest quality of instruction. It is our goal to provide the training that will enable your child to reach his or her full dance potential while building self-esteem, poise, and a true love for dance as an art form.

About Our Studio Floor

In order to provide the best possible training environment for our dancers, we have installed the most innovative and professional dance floor available.  It is a true “floating” Marley covered dance floor, which offers the most advanced energy absorption and resilience for dancers, preventing overuse injuries and reducing fatigue.

The Marley floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational to professional dance. Because the Marley is less temperamental than wood floors, dancers don’t have to worry so much about slipping, and can concentrate solely on performing well.

The Importance of Ballet

Ballet is physically and mentally the foundation for all forms of dance. Ballet builds strength, coordination, grace, and balance, as well as awareness and control of the body.  Because ballet is so instrumental in developing the technique and athleticism required for all dance styles, we require all of our students to enroll in at least one ballet class, except for those students wishing only to enroll in hip hop, tap, or teen jazz classes. However, for all students, ballet is strongly recommended.

Missed Classes

Classes missed due to inclement weather, holidays, vacation, or illness are non-refundable. Please follow the Klein ISD schedule and weather school closures. We do not offer Make up classes for holiday’s or for children are sick. Our classes generally have waiting lists and therefore we can’t allow students to make them up if the class size is too large due to rules set by our insurance provider.

Dropping A Class

When dropping a class, we must receive the request in writing before the 1st of the month. Any student dropping a class after the 1st will owe tuition for that month.  If a student drops all classes and later wishes to re-enroll, the registration fee must be paid again even if re-enrollment takes place in that same school year.

Registration

There is a registration fee of $35.00 per student per year.  This fee is due at the time of enrollment, and is non-refundable.

Tuition

Tuition is based on one full school term (August-June), divided into 11 monthly payments. The first payment is due, along with registration fee, at the time of enrollment. Future monthly payments are due the 1st.  Although the number of classes may vary per month, the monthly fee remains constant and is based on the annual tuition amount. Tuition is divided into 11 equal payments for simplicity. Note that because tuition is based on a yearly cost, there is no pro-rating for shorter months. of every month, with the final payment due on June 1.

Payments

For tuition payments and other fee’s we require all students to put a credit card or debit card number on file. The tuition will be automatically drafted on the 1st of each month. We do not accept checks or cash payments for security reasons. Anyone who cannot put a credit card on file and wishing to pay by check or cash must pay for the whole first semester (August thru Dec, including costume fees) at registration. They must then pay for the whole second semester (January thru June, including recital fees) by January 1st.
